The Less Intelligent Road?

Some Persuasions of the New-World Ordered Liberally Minded...

~written from the common sense perspective of The Winds of the Soul~

by Dr. Gregory C.D. Young, Ph.D.(Oxon.)

to the book

Whatever is in need of intelligent, discriminating thought appears too difficult for the masses to understand---whose attention span now appears to be reduced to a few seconds at best.

There seems to be an increasing schism in old world alliances, shifts in philosophical centers of morality, and new levels of absurdities that now pass for logical argument despite the offence to common sense.  Yesterday's values and principles seem to overtaken by today's "relativisms" at any alarming rate, becoming revamped and repackaged much like a cheap breakfast cereal with little nutritional value but plenty of sugar.  Whatever is in need of intelligent, discriminating thought appears too difficult for the masses to understand---whose attention span now appears to be reduced to a few seconds at best.  So we cut and slash anything of any substance producing an indigestible fodder for those with weak minds, serving the lowest common denominator at best.  Do you see these trends happening as I do?  These trends are visible within our families, within our nation, and within the politics of the world.  Indeed, the line now seems drawn in the sand....

People and nations all around us are continually surprising us with their newly constructed positions.  Without embarrassment, they are exposing, indeed shamelessly parading in front of their audiences, such incredulities about themselves, demonstrating how warped their frames of reference have really become, knowing no allegiance to conscionable and honorable action, to Goodness itself, while serving their own self-interests above everything else.

Whereas before, even though there has always been duplicitous and cunning shams in politics, most have attempted to perform their works out of the public eye.  Not any longer.  Perhaps they perceive that the masses no longer care. Alarmingly, they may be right....

There is a line in the Old Testament that has direct application to us today.  It is found in the Book of Amos, Chapter Eight, vs. 11-13, which reads: "Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord:  And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it."  This appears to be so true on so many levels, doesn't it?

We are seeing choices being publically made that seem to correlate directly with the levels of morality that are presently entertained.  The more immoral we become, the more stupid and bureaucratic we become.  The greater the immorality, the less intelligent but more self-serving our decisions.  And, I don't think that this is simply a statistical artifact.  Take for instance what is happening in Europe.  Is it any wonder that those nations who have largely supported socialistic and communistic governments are also "relativists" when it comes to defining their moral positions (e.g. France, Germany, Russia)?  I believe that their political and economic decisions are clearly and directly tied to their lack of spiritual understanding and discipline.

The more amoral their cultures become, the more retarded and stupid their rationale for their societal direction is.  With moral decline, so goes everything else that is treasured by the civilized world.  Indeed, without sound moral understanding and education, democracy cannot survive.  Our Forefathers certainly knew this, being students of history and testifying that our constitution was not an instrument that could by itself govern a nation that chose to be without morality---and being intellectually astute, most particularly chose those Judeo-Christian values found within the Bible itself.

Yet, despite the incontrovertible evidence established by history itself, a growing extreme world-wide liberal persuasion appears to have become more and more associated with the ideas of "relativism," where there is no clear distinction between right and wrong, creating notions of political correctness as a new morality, propagating unholy tolerances for the obscene, and setting self-centered standards of situational ethics as new road maps for civilized behavior, all of which makes reason stare.

The new eastern block of soon-to-be NATO members surely can testify to this reality as well, and have done so by being so supportive of the U.S. efforts against Iraqian despotism and supported terrorism, whereas the "older" European nations seem to have forgotten not only who has bailed them out over the last century, but forgotten the very basic foundation stones and reasons that their hard-won freedoms have survived this long, namely the Judeo-Christian value system.  These truths they now openly persecute and prosecute in every cultural direction.  And with their decaying morality, so goes their respective freedoms.

Say what you want, but any form of government without this particular moral foundation is doomed, for it and it alone is the basis of justice and equity in our society.  There is not now, nor ever has been, a dictatorship, socialistic philosophy, even the religious tenants contained within Islam, that can make the claim of producing a more prosperous and equitable society.  Irrefutably, no value system has ever proved as successful in being the foundation of any form of government or people than that found within the Bible.

Such redefining appears to have taken place slowly over the last few decades, hijacking "liberalism," much like extremist have done in Islam, in becoming intellectually something now surprisingly akin to the occult, where ideas are founded in superstitions and controlled largely by various egotisms..., certainly not logic or reason.  In fact, most of the international players in this new-world order of liberalism are so self-absorbed and inclined that they openly admit that if it's not about "them," they don't want to play.  In other words, from their perspective, there is no intellectual or moral value in anything other than that which directly satisfies their own selfishness.

Now, not very surprising, isn't this sounding more like the lazy, misinformed, and self-interested opinions of our own Hollywood elitists, where the world is largely seen through the narrowing vision of "Cliff-notes" alone, getting their instructions from "life" off the back of a cereal box?  Their mind-set seems to court their own self-serving propaganda, and their frame of reference is becoming more and more anti-intellect, anti-reason, anti-logic, anati-morality---where "don't think" is becoming socially acceptable, and their stupidity itself, enveloped in layers of impregnable narcissism, is exalted to a level of brilliance that the rest of us are just not "gifted" enough to understand!  Hello?!?  On what basis to these people judge anything apart from their own insularly selfish, inflated, and retarded cores?

I am reminded of Sir Winston Churchill and his meritorious thoughts on conservatism wherein he disclosed the view that the older he became, the more wisely conservative he found himself becoming, likening his own heady and more youthful days to wasted times with many mistaken liberal ideas stemming from the short-sightedness inherent in being egotistically inclined.

Although I've never been comfortable with labels and remain myself an "Independent," I think what is happening now is even surprising some of the more conservative liberals in our own country, making the Democratic Party (recently humorously re-dubbed "La Party de la Democratique" by Bill Krystal) a club of varying divisive factions that is becoming increasingly more uncomfortable with their own leadership---especially for those who are more intellectually astute and still prize logic and reason to be a guiding light in their thinking.  I am reminded of Sir Winston Churchill and his meritorious thoughts on conservatism wherein he disclosed the view that the more advanced in age, the more wisely conservative he found himself becoming, likening his own heady and more youthful days to wasted times with many mistaken liberal ideas stemming from the short-sightedness inherent in being egotistically inclined.

Times certainly don't change much in that regard. Yet, as of late, there appears to be growing a spectrum of self-absorbed adolescent willfulness counterfeiting for maturity and leadership throughout the world, justifying its every intellectually dishonest action according to its own proclivity for selfishness, while openly flying in the face of reason and logic.  Perhaps that's another fundamental reason as to why Saddam Hussein and Jacques Chirac have been so close over the years, sharing a common disposition of the self-absorbed.  Again, when you think about this from this perspective, the correlations are overwhelming.... The pattern I'm suggesting here is real, just look for it and test it out yourselves.  This is no self-fulfilling prophecy.  The realities of relationship between the self-absorbed and new-world order liberalism are alarmingly unmistakable.

Whereas yesteryear, the debate over how to engage in the Truth and how best to manifest it predominated, and not the definition of the Truth itself, today, the very idea of what is "true" is now increasingly under siege.  Indeed, for many of the new-world order liberalism, be they in the U.S., the U.N., Europe, or the militants of the new Islam, the Truth is a matter of self-construction alone.  It is their truth which they wish to exalt, unconscionable false-truths that mirror the twisted natures of their own hardened hearts and self-promoted designs.  These are the things they seek to justify, defraud, and shove down the throats of the rest of us, pandering their own own malignant world view over the rights of any who disagree to the death.

"We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.. .We have killed our unborn and called it choice...We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable...We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem...We have abused power and called it politics...We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition..."

On a related note, always outspoken radio commentator Paul Harvey recently aired on his nationally syndicated program "The Rest of the Story " the following prayer offered by Rev. Joe Wright in the Kansas State Senate on the occasion of the opening of a new session.  Expecting the usual ministerial generalities, legislators were instead treated to a great but discomforting surprise.  Parenthetically, Harvey received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired.  Here's what they heard:

..."Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, "Woe to those who call evil good", but that is exactly what we have done... We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.  We confess that....We have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word and called it Pluralism...We have exploited the poor and called it the Lottery...We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.. .We have killed our unborn and called it choice...We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable...We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem...We have abused power and called it politics...We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition...We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of speech...We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment...Search us, Oh, God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free...Guide and bless these men and women who have been sent to direct us to the center of Your will and to openly ask these things in the name of Your Son, the living Savior, Jesus Christ, Amen."

The response was immediate. A number of legislators walked out during the prayer in protest.  However, in 6 short weeks, Central Christian Church, where Rev. Wright is pastor, logged more than 5,000 phone calls with only 47 of those calls responding negatively. Furthermore, the church is now receiving international requests for copies of this prayer from India, Africa, and Korea.

I couldn't be more in agreement.  This is the road the new-world order of liberalism has embarked upon, turning right into wrong, good into evil, as a sound morality otherwise interferes with the justification of their own self-centeredness.  They're finally coming "out of the closet" and openly glorying in their egocentricities, however, is a departure that threatens the moral standing of us all.  So publicized, it is quickly becoming the bastion of the undisciplined young and uninhibited, where historical consequences are yet to be realities and the rules can be made up on the fly. Such a plague on us directly challenges the fundamentals of freedom and intelligence, issuing an ultimatum that allegiance to anything but its own selfish and undisciplined base is unacceptable.  Ironically, although deceptively proffering a form or facsimile of "freedom," it seeks to castrate the basis of every one's individual rights and raise the flag of anarchy in its place.

In truth, it seems that we don't have many "grown-ups" left in the world.  Any many there are that have been fooled into believing that they are adults when in fact they've only become spoiled brats.  With age should come a more broadened view of things, as opposed to the narrow-mindedness of youth.  But these maturing events seems to have become short-circuited and circumvented by our very material lives.

Youth, when undisciplined and morally uneducated, fumbles with correct discernment, often becoming preoccupied with the gratification of their own immediate gratification while harkening to their own protected prejudices and insulating social pressures.  Moreover, it seems that today most adults remain of an adolescent mind-set, or are those constantly obsessed with retaining or gaining their own youth, becoming card-carrying member of the "cult of me-ism."  In truth, it seems that we don't have many "grown-ups" left in the world.  Any many there are that have been fooled into believing that they are adults when in fact they've only become spoiled brats, unpracticed and unable to think or make accurate discernment.  With age should come a more broadened view of things, as opposed to the narrow-mindedness of youth.  But these maturing events seem to have become short-circuited and circumvented by our very own insular and material lives.

We live in a world that is frequently engaged in the diminution of the realities of the inner world, that place within us where conscience is experienced, where creativity occurs, where right and wrong are discerned.  In fact, it is the reality of our being "internally able" to taste and know the differences between the sweet and the bitter that is now being frontally attacked.  This is where the real battle is being fought.  Everything is being directly focused on the assault of the realities of our inner worlds, directly focused in making our inner worlds redundant and irrelevant, persuading us to lose touch with what is happening within us and instead rely on some other system of judgement.  I believe that all the outward changes we are experiencing around us, simply mirror the fate of what is happening within us.  And there is evidence of this all around.  For instance, when the communing with the spirit has become depersonalized to nothing more than a popular and lucrative parlor trick that can be preformed by dialing a psyche's 1-800 number and charging the experience to your credit card, we should begin to fear that the enemies of truth are succeeding.

It is no wonder, then, that in losing the connections to the "children we used to be" and with the sensitivities first given to our hearts where our abilities to discern between right and wrong were first given to us, we have not been able to grow up, not been able to stand tall with the foundation of our own history beneath our feet.  Indeed, we have not grown-up at all, but grown awry, "running to and fro to seek the word of the lord, and shall not find it."  Truly, there is a famine on the earth, and yet who can recognize it?
